Confirm your readiness

Do you have a valid BCCSA TCP certification?
Do you rely on public transit? You must be able to reach job sites anywhere from West Vancouver to Chilliwack. Travel can be lengthy, and relying on ride-hailing services can be costly.
Do you have CSA-approved, six-inch steel-toed boots?
Do you have a cell phone with data?
Are you available Monday to Friday (weekends optional)?
Are you physically able to stand for long hours in all weather conditions?
Do you have your own reliable vehicle and a driver's licence? (Not a vehicle shared with someone else.)

Traffic Control Person employment with Safeside

TCPs work outdoors around moving traffic and changing site conditions. The role requires clear communication, sustained attention, reliable transportation to assigned sites, and the ability to follow the traffic-control plan and site-specific direction throughout the shift.

Minimum role readiness

WorkSafeBC requires a TCP to complete a Board-approved traffic-control training program. Check the current approved training requirements and the BCCSA TCP program directly before applying.

  • Current evidence of approved TCP training

  • Willingness to complete site-specific orientation and follow the assigned supervisor
